Paris  Personal Tours

What an interesting and controversial figure of the 18th Century! He is mostly remembered by the French as one of the nobles who embraced the cause the French Revolution and who, after changing his name to "Philippe Égalité", voted for the death of his own cousin, Louis XVI...  But that didn't prevent him him to be sent himself to the scaffold in 1793! Incidentally, as a twist of fate, his son later became the last King of France ("King of the French" to be precise) who ruled from 1830 to 1848 as "Louis-Philippe 1er".

There's a lot to be said about this complex man (so was his son) and I will tell you a lot

about both men during my new tour of the Palais-Royal. Please stay tuned... 😎
