Paris  Personal Tours

My son's former girlfriend managed to get him to visit the Palace of Versailles in 2017. They went on a day I was working there. After I guided my group inside, I stayed on location so that he could shoot this video in the gardens. I bet you'll be stunned by the special effects at the end! Or not...

This is an illustration of Latona and her chilren taken from a 1681 edition of Ovid's Metamorphoses which happens to be in my possession (I collect old books). Ovid was a Roman poet who lived under the reign of Augustus (please ask Stuart or Nico for the dates). His "Metamorphoses" (which is like a gigantic poem made of 2500 verses in 15 volumes !) was a bestseller during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance and it was still an immense source of inspiration for the artists at the time of Louis XIV.
