Now we're talking! This is indeed the only page on this website (except for the "recommended by Les Frenchies" and the "legal terms" page) where I talk about money. And this for two main reasons:

1) I don't like the idea (and the visual) of having a price tag on each excursion.

2) the way I see things is not that each tour has its own price, but that all tours will cost you more or less

    the same because:

it all depends on how many hours you use me for and if we use my car or not.

For my guiding fees, you pay me by the hour: €120/hour, for a minimum of 3 hours (€360).

And of course, if you use my services for 3 half-days (or more), I'll give you a discount!

Last but not least, if you compare my rates with the ones of other companies and/or other private guides (please do!), you'll notice that they are rather similar...

but please make sure that you compare what is comparable:

with Paris Personal Tours,

you sign up for an experienced guide with an official license who speaks very good English,

who will guide you inside the buildings (and not leave you at the entrance with an audio-guide),

and if he/she drives, he/she has proper transportation papers and insurance

and all that, I believe, was worthwhile mentioning...

I always indicate on each tour page how long the tour is supposed to last (10 hours for Champagne, 12 hours for Loire Valley...) so it shouldn't be difficult for you to figure out the price for each tour. And I will of course confirm the exact price when I write back to you.

For a multi-day tour, I'll charge you between 8 and 12 hours per day depending on the program.

But, of course, I'll give you a discount! And the less busy the time of year, the bigger the discount!

For the Riviera tours, after having checked if I can make myself available (mostly if you book me a long time in advance and after you have passed the eligibility test), I will give you an exact quote when we have defined precise dates and the program (that we can of course adapt to your tastes and needs during the tour itself).

When you write to me, no need to write a long email (as if I would mind) but please make sure you give me all the important details: like if you have booked your flight and accomodation already or not and, if yes,

I need the dates and location of your stay. I also need to know if it's your first time in Paris and/or France for each member of your party. If you have already booked some other tours/activities, I need to know your flexibilty in switching the dates around. For example, if you arrive on the 5th evening and depart on the 10th but you are not available on the 7th and 8th and you want me for the Louvre at one point, I need to know if it could be anytime (morning or afternoon) on 6th, 9th or 10th. I will then give you my possibilities, you tell me which one works best for you, then we make a pre-booking (up to six months in advance) for a certain date. Then, two months before that date, we make the final booking: you then please wire me a small deposit (just to make sure you mean business) and you just need to pay me the remainder with your credit-card when you see me. How much simpler, safer and without-much-commitment could it be?

You want some examples? OK.

Example N°1: you book me for an extended "Highlights of the Louvre" tour. It's 360€. We schedule a date by email. Two months before that date, I will confirm if I can do it myself or if I can arrange someone else. If you're still interested, I'll send you a link which will enable you to pay me a 135€ deposit with your credit card and the day I see you I will charge you the remaining 225€ on your credit card (or you can pay cash).

Example N°2: you book me for an 8-hour-full-day-combo guiding. It's 950€. We schedule a date by email. Two months before that date, I will confirm if I can do it myself or if I can arrange someone else. If you're still interested, I'll send you a link which will enable you to pay me a 350€ deposit with your credit card and the day I see you I will charge you the remaining 600€ on your credit card.

Also, I highly recommend, if you are not certain that you will want to use my services for the whole day, to book me just for the morning. I can keep a question mark for the afternoon page in my agenda and we keep it as a stand-by solution until the last minute depending on your schedule and/or your mood. That solution also gives me the opportunity to get some afternoons off for leisure or for last-minute requests. And, you never know, at the last minute you might find yourself eligible for a 33% discount!

Concerning the tours with a car, the prices above only apply if I'm the one driving since that's the maximum my sedan can take. If I'm not available and I need to organize another guide and a minivan, the price chart below applies. Likewise, if there are more than four persons and I need to organize a minivan, I will also charge you the prices below. I'm aware that they might be a tad more expensive than other companies for the Paris tours with minivan BUT for those tours with an extra driver, the fact that you have someone drop you and your guide right at the corner of any building and pick you up later at another specific spot makes a big difference, let me tell you.

Those prices don't include entrance tickets or meals.

But I can get you all the tickets you need in advance and we'll skip all the lines (except the one for the security, of course). That will induce an additional cost of course, but solely at official ticket-selling price:

I don't make money on that, I do it as a service for you (what I wouldn't do for you!).

And you don't HAVE to buy me lunch, but if you do buy me a decent one, I'll knock off one hour at the end of the day. And I don't need much for lunch: a salad and a glass of wine are fine for me. Even a sandwich, if it's a delicious one like a shawarma sandwich in the Jewish district during our tour of the Marais:
