Before she met Napoleon, Josephine came very close to the guillotine during the Revolution. After she was freed from jail, all she wanted was to enjoy life… and she sure did! Even after she married Napoleon, she couldn’t help cheating on him (you have no idea... yet). Napoleon got irrefutable evidence when he was in Egypt. He wrote to his brother Joseph about it and, guess what, the letter was intercepted by the English and published in their newspapers (touché)! As he had become the laughing stock of Europe, he saw no other choice, in order to save face, but to have a mistress himself… and, guess what, once he gave it a try, he took a liking into it!
