Paris(but not only)  Personal Tours

Auvers-sur-Oise is a small village 20 miles Northwest of Paris where Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) spent the last 70 days of his life during which he painted about 70 paintings (the exact number is debatable but to say that he achieved a painting per day is accurate). In Auvers, Vincent was at his peak: he had created a new style, very intuitive, very intense. But that was sadly not enough to bring him the recognition that he had always sought. While we walk through the streets of the village, visit his last known address (he had 37 different ones during the 37 years of his life), see the church and other spots that he painted, I will tell you why he came to Auvers, what he did during those 70 days (particularly the last two weeks), who he saw, who he talked to, and I will tell you all we now know about his suicide and what led him to it… Did he really commit suicide? What really happened? What are the facts? We have never been so close to the truth (even though the authorities don’t like what they hear and turn a blind eye to disturbing evidence). Please let me fill you in. Be among the first ones to know…

We will end the tour at the cemetery where, in his third grave, he rests next to his brother Theo.

Emotion and satisfaction guaranteed on this tour as I will submerge you with amazing facts, recent discoveries (that very few people know about) and evidence!

This tour can be done in 4 hours (one hour drive each way + 2 hours on spot) if your time is limited and we do it fast, but plan on 5 hours if you want to do it right... and, you know what, it can easily be combined with Giverny to make a full day tour! And even if you've been to Giverny before, the flowers are never the same the next time you go! And the roads I will take are really worthwhile. Just saying...

Also, for your information, this tour is difficult to do on your own because it's not easily accessible by public transportation. In fact, it takes more time nowadays to ride by train from Paris to Auvers than it did at the time of Vincent! Because there is no longer a direct train from Paris to Auvers (except on week-ends twice a day during the summer) so one now needs to take a train to Pontoise (5 miles farther West) and then switch for another train to travel back to Auvers… Can you believe that?
