Paris(but not only)  Personal Tours

In depth Monet and Van Gogh in one day? Does it get any better than this? If you ask me, the answer is no.

It's funny how both tours interact (not only with the sunflowers that you can see at Giverny in August/September): did you know that on July 13th 1890, precisely two weeks before Van Gogh shot himself at Auvers-sur-Oise,

his brother Theo went to Giverny to see Monet instead of visiting Vincent (and without asking Vincent to join him)? And that it’s one of the numerous reasons that got Vincent disillusionned and brought him to "the point of no return"?

This picture was taken in the Loire Valley but sunflowers were appropriate here.

(just to let you know)

Giverny and Auvers-sur-Oise

This tour runs from April 1st to October 31st.

This tour runs like this:

9 AM: depart by car or van from Paris.

10:15 AM: arrive at Giverny where we visit the house and Garden of Claude Monet.

It was here that he lived the best and the worse times of his life. Indeed, it was a beautiful and inspiring place

to live and work, yet few visitors today realize that this beauty demanded a high price.

Let me amaze you with a « behind the scene(ry) tour »…

After lunch, we will go to Auvers-sur-Oise where Vincent Van Gogh spent the last 70 days of his life during which he painted about 70 paintings (the exact number is debatable but to say that he achieved a painting per day is accurate).

"Field under a cloudy sky" Van Gogh - Auvers-sur-Oise - 1890

We will walk through the streets of the village, visit his last known address*, see the church and other spots that he painted, I will tell you why he came to Auvers, what he did during those 70 days (particularly the last two weeks), who he saw, who he talked to, and I will tell you all we now know about his suicide and what led him to it…

Did he really commit suicide? What really happened? What are the facts?

We have never been so close to the truth and I have stunning revelations for you!

I will charge you only for 8 hours with car for this tour, even if we spend more, because "when one takes pleasure, one doesn't count his time"
