This tour cannot be combined with a regular half-day tour of Versailles, and this for two main reasons:
1) our time inside the rooms of the main palace itself is limited + there is already a lot to be discovered in each room + my spicy stories are very long (not that you will mind).
2) anecdotes on this tour are very (s)explicit + my voice carries well + there are too many delicate ears in the overcrowded rooms of the Palace. All that makes the garden's isolated alleys and benches the best places to make certain revelations…
Also, we have to do this tour in the afternoon because:
1) If you have never been to Versailles before, whether with me or without me, you HAVE to do the regular tour in the morning : otherwise you won’t have the basic/proper (and nevertheless astounding) info to help you understand why the king (and queen) HAD to get away from all this, one way or another. And if you want to visit the main palace on your own in the morning, it’s fine with me: I can meet you on location at 2 PM or something.
2) You’d be missing a lot if, like 90% of the visitors, you just visit the Palace of Versailles and you don’t go to the Trianons and the Hamlet of Marie-Antoinette which are open only in the afternoon.
3) In case you’ve already visited the main Palace (King & Queen’s apartments & Hall of Mirrors) and you don’t want to go back there but you still want to do this tour and hire me for the whole day + if you’re interested mostly in my « behind the scenes tours », please take notice that this tour can easily be combined with my « C’est si bon at Malmaison » tour in the morning. Just to let you know.
(afternoon only)

How to sum up this tour? So many vices, so little time!
This « Vice at Versailles » tour is the only opportunity for me to tell you all (and I mean ALL) about the love lives of three French kings (Louis XIV, XV and XVI) who lived at Versailles and, in the case of Louis XVI, there will be A LOT more to tell about his wife, Marie-Antoinette, because Louis XVI is one of the very few kings who never ever had a mistress… And why did it take Louis and Marie-Antoinette
seven years before they could have their first child? Do you want to know?
Marie-Antoinette, when she arrived in France at the age of 15, was a spoiled brat (because she was raised as one). She was indeed foolish and reckless. She made a lot of wrong choices (among which the one to have a private life which was a forbidden thing for a queen of France) but she turned out to be a good mother to her children. And the way she stood up for her husband and her children + her martyrdom to the scaffold only call for respect.
Now, did Marie-Antoinette have more than a platonic affair with Count Axel Von Fersen? It is impossible to give a categorical answer but brand new evidence very recently popped up. Would you like to hear about it? And what better place than the temple of love in the Petit Trianon’s gardens to tell you all we know about them?
This VICE AT VERSAILLES tour is one of my favorite tours because it gives me the opportunity to spend time in those enchanting gardens of Versailles where the breathtaking geometrical views from the palace are only the preliminary step before reaching unsuspected hidden miniature worlds where mythology rhymes with beauty and poetry...
