I bet most of you didn't know that this bust is one of the very few representations of Julius Cesar that we believe was made during his lifetime, it's supposedly one of the most accurates. Isn't that something?


And if you've never seen it before, it's because it was only found in 2007 in Arles at the bottom of the Rhône river

during an archaeological search. It made the headlines here.


I guess we could go see it at the Museum of Ancient Arles if we drive by. Just a thought...

Why not? But I'm not totally convinced...


He was big headed allright, but the bust from Arles suits my imagination better...
