Homer Simpson is considered as one of the most influential characters in the history of television and the Sunday Times described him as "the greatest comic creation of modern time" (but that’s debatable because I would personally vote for inspector Clouseau).

My Homer was the author of "The Iliad and the Odyssey" at the end of the 8th century BC.

He was believed by the ancient Greeks to have been the first and greatest of the epic poets and he is still to us the author of the first known literature in Europe.
