Inside the stone sarcophagus, Napoleon's body is kept in 5 different coffins which are nestled one into the other like Russian dolls: the first exterior one is made of Ebony, the next two coffins inside are made of lead (each of them sealed), the fourth one is made of wood, and the fifth and last one (the closest to his body) is made of tinplate. Now, why is that so? What exactly did they see when they opened all the coffins in 1840 (19 years after he died)? Why were there (and still are) rumors that Napoleon's body was replaced by another by the English who played a trick on us? (not that they wouldn't be capable of it). And what about the rumors that he was poisoned? Wouldn't you like to know?
