I can't believe this honorable American man has a Wikipedia page in French and not in English!

That's why I must write a short biography about him from the little I gathered on the internet.

He was born in 1944 in Athens (Greece). He spent his childhood in Colombus (Ohio), then studied at at Princeton, then at the Sorbonne in Paris (no wonder he writes so well in French). He then did his career in journalism and he was at one time the Director of Newsweek in Paris.

He became famous in France in France in 2004 with his book "Sacrés Français! Un Américain nous regarde" which could (unsatisfactorily) be translated by "Good old French! An American looks at us". This book was sadly never translated in English which is a shame because it could help a lot of non-French-speaking foreigners to understand us better because he depicted us very humorously and as we really are!

Ted Stanger supposedly lives in France (but where?). He seems to be very discrete (no website, no facebook account). I intend to write to him through his editor. I hope he contacts me because it would be a great honor for me to be properly acquainted (I saw him briefly in 2004 as he signed me a copy of his first book) and I want to make sure he doesn't mind me quoting him. If any of you know him, please let him know I'm one of his fans!
