La Roche Guyon is classified as one the "most beautiful villages in France". Located 40 miles outside Paris and only 5 miles from Giverny, it's easy to combine the two (but I recommend we go to Auvers/Oise instead of Giverny if you haven't been there, or we could do the three if you want to make it a 12-hour-tour instead of 10).

The chateau is unusual with its main building at the bottom which dates mostly from the 18th century, its troglodyte cellars and its not-completely-torn-down-keep of the 12th century at the top of the cliff (and from which you have a great view overlooking the Seine river if you don't mind steps). There's not much furniture inside but I must say that the building itself is quite interesting. We can always go for a quick look on our way back from Giverny! Your call.
